EBC Yellowstuff Ultra High Friction Brake Pads Cobalt 05-09 2.2L DP41660R.

Performance Disc Brake Pads for Chevrolet Cobalt.

Brake pads are the component that contacts and applies pressure and friction to the vehicle's rotors.  This pressure is what slows and stops the vehicle.

Some early warning signs of failing brake are a squeaking noise when you come to a stop, or your ride doesn't seem to stop as quickly as it used too, or there is a mushy feeling to your brake pedal when pressed.  There are different types of brake pads to choose from.

Cars today will probably have metallic disc pads that grab the rotor. Metallic disc pads are composed of iron, copper, steel and graphite mixed together and bonded to form the pad.  Another type of disc pad is the non-asbestos Organic disc pad.  They contain natural materials such as glass, rubber and resins. Another product added to some of the Organic pads is Kevlar.  These brake pads when disposed of won't pollute the environment and easier to dispose of.  The next type of disc pad is quite expensive, and it is a ceramic disc pad. Ceramic disc pads are more for high performance vehicles, such as race cars and trucks.

Now, at least you will have a basic knowledge of pads and rotors before you replace them.

If you prefer ultra high friction brake pads for race, track or street use then the aramid fiber based Yellowstuff brake pads are the answer.  Requiring no warm up they get stronger under the heat of hard performance driving.  Yellowstuff brakes pads are not a low dust.   Yellowstuff is produced in two compounds, DM1846 and DM1793.  For standard OEM brakes upgrade DM1793 compound is recommended as it is slightly harder and last longer than the DM1846 version.  Weather your at the track or driving through traffic EBC Yellowstuff Brake Pads are the ultimate performance enhancement for your Cobalt.
